Should i use protein shakes to get ripped if i have a little belly?
so im was trying to get a six pack and i decided to also work out my arms and and back and i noticed my muscles cutting up so i want to keep going, but i also really want my abs but i have a little belly and i want to take protein for my arms should i? or just do it naturally? Thanks.
I’m all about protein shakes - I personally like pure whey protein isolate as these products have the lactose filtered from the products - this means there’s no milk sugars, fewer carbs, and it gives you less gas if you have a slight lactose intolerance.
But I think you’re asking the wrong question. The fact is, if you want to show your ab muscles, you need to cut bodyfat, most likely below 10%. To do this, I’d start dropping all processed carbs, keep protein high, and tinker with natural fats to get the right caloric number.
For me, I start burning fat like crazy when my daily carb intake is under 100g and my protein is over 300g (and fats from animal/fish/nuts/olives/avocados covers the rest)
When cutting, you may lose a bit of muscle, so it’s good to cycle between bulking and cutting.

You can take protein but stick with a whey protein. It helps the muscle recover better and is absorbed by the body better as well. to determine how much protein to take in one day, figure 1-2 grams / lb. of body weight. Ex: If you weighed 100 lbs., your daily intake would be 100-200 grams of protein. you don’t need more than 30 grams of protein /serving either. Your body only absorbs so much at a time and the rest is expelled out as waste. Here’s the tricky part. If you go with a regular intake of protein to gain some size but want to get nice abs you’ll need to incorporate some cardio. A cardio routine can consist of (by itself or a combination) jogging, running steps, jump roping. Good luck!
