How can I get six pack abs?

I was just wondering if there was an easy way to get a six pack, or if I should just stick to the basic diet and exercise routine? I really want to get a six pack and any help would be great!

I’ve got great abs great quads and good biceps. and I do lots of conditioning - martial arts

the thing is I have a little bit of fat flab stuff over top how do I get rid of that?

and I dont want to make my biceps and quads 2 bid from muscle….

health diets? workouts? other stuff?

Do P90X (workout program). there is a lean version of it if you are trying to lose weight and not gain much muscle. Also eat lots of fiber and protein, as those will keep you fuller for longer. Calories is the main thing you want to focus on, so keep those at about 2000-2500 if you are working out also.

Foods to eat and workouts would be great. I have about an inch and a half of fat on my belly and I’d like to tone it up so I don’t have to suck in all the time, which gets annoying.

Knowing that you do carry some extra fat tells me that you should be doing quite a bit of cardio whether it be running or walking and always keep a journal. Keep doing your ab exercises but in order for your abs to show well you will have to change your eating habits. It is going to take longer than 1 week but if you really want this then time will not matter. Cardio will burn fat. Ab exercises will build the Abs. Try to do cardio daily but don’t get burn’t out. A day off once a week will work.

You will have to change your eating to 5 to 6 small meals per day and cut back on your portion size and cut back on the sweets and fats, It may take a little longer but you will be glad you did it. You will feel unreal!!

so I know im not fat. I just want to get in shape. over the years, i’ve gone through many months of conditioning for soccer. no matter how hard i’ve tried, i get in shape but i still have a bit of a belly? I was just wondering why? sometimes i even loose weight or tighten muscles but nothing ever seems to change? I would just like to know if there are any specific excercises that focus on the stomach and abs. Thanks!

Some people just have fat accumulation in different areas, depends on your genetics.

Keep going with some strength training, and focus on your abs (ie. crunches) more than the rest of your body. If you get in to the best shape you’ve ever been in, and you still have a bit of the belly, know that you’ll likely just have it for life.

Im 15. i am 130lbs and about 5 feet 9 icnhes tall. I have no fat and run about 5 miles daily. i want abs. what exersises should i do and what should i eat? and other helpul advice please. anything i would need to know to get a hard stomic or abs. thanks

I’m a 15 teen year old boy. I would like to get Abs & a little arm muscle. The only thing I can think of is taking steroids. Is this the only way to get abs? Is there any other ways? What are the effects if there is another way & what are the effects if steroids is the only way out? How long do you think it will take to receive abs? I am 6 feet and I weigh 150 Pounds. I am not fat, I’m average, pretty skinny, I guess

Never take steroids, It will stunt your growth and cause you severe problems when you get older like many types of cancers.

You are still young so you still have a lot of filling out to do. In 4 years i can see you at 190lbs.

Stick to the mass building exercises. never work each body part more than 2x per week and never 2 days in a row,

And remember>>at the gym that is where you tear down your muscle fibers and at home with lots of rest and good nutrition that is where your muscles rebuild bigger and stronger.

Allright so..My problem is..that i have abs..and they are pretty strong..but i just can’t see them.I guess they are not toned..or something like that..My abs look like a hamstring :D..it might be my diet or something like that..so here are some details..My workout is mainly sprinting..i do little squatting or crunching exercises..but i still do them..its just not that often..as i said my main workout is sprinting and some freerun..cause i have fun doing them..unlike weight-lifting..or some cardio exercises which are boring as hell..i can feel my abs burn almost everytime i sprint..and they hurt too..which means that they are getting ripped..and i know that they are pretty strong..but my problem is with them being visible.Things i eat alot..(i mean like everyday)..are carrots,bananas,apples,eggs,greek cheese,whole grain bread,peas,tomatoes,etc..so if you know a solution please share it with me :D..

Try doing more crunches, sit ups, leg lifts, etc. Remember though that you need something like under 15% (I seem to remember under 10%, but i dont know for sure) body fat to have abdominal muscles that are visible under your skin, so it may be incredibly difficult to do this. You probably could do it though if you work out enough.

Also, are you sure that when you sprint that pain in your abdomen is actually your abs being worked and not a cramp? I thought that sprinting only worked your legs and made you skinny, but im not a trainer

i already eat very healthy i need to know how to burn my belly fat, because my boyfriend and i are having a competition to see who can get abs faster but i want to get mine the right way and i have a layer of belly fat in the way of my abs. so please tell me wat excersizes i can do to burn the fat. and if you have any motivation tips that would be helpful too.

Look up some good ab workouts and do cardio. Lifting weights also helps burn fat and gain muscle. Good luck.

i weigh 111 pounds and im 5ft and 2 in. tall. i m not fat but my stomach is not necesarily flat or fat. its in between. i started doing crunches but do you think in order to see my abs i have to have a flat stomach/???? and how long does it usually take a person to get abs?

In order to see you abs, you need get rid of the fat (even though there might not be a lot of it) that is covering your abs.When you are doing your crunches, you are building up your abdominal muscles=your abs, but you are not getting rid of the fat.
Bad new is that targeted weight loss is very difficult. The only way to get rid of the fat is to do some cardiovascular exercise (something that makes you really sweat and gets your blood circulation going). Problem is, there’s in no way of telling where will you lose the fat from.
You just have keep going! It is not impossible!!
